Big quilt

This is a piece of art (that I did not make) but that I love. It is backstage at the Washington Center in downtown Olympia, presumably for the enjoyment of the stagehands. I was there for my job with the Olympia Symphony, where we put on a concert for 800 4th graders (with their recorders!) at 10:30am. So this piece of art resonated at that time.

Here is where I spent the majority of my art time. Hand-stitching my current “big” quilt. It’s draped over an ironing board, which I treat as a stand-up desk sometimes. This is the back of the quilt.

I finished this watercolor, which is a copy of something I tore out of a magazine, artist unknown. I think I’m going to turn this into a birthday card for my mom who celebrates 70 years next week. : )

Watercolor sketchbook work, in process….

…and done! Next week I have to focus on the logistics of hanging quilts for the Spring Arts Walk show, the only bad part about making quilts that hang on the wall. 😜
